Gay Kiss Causes Outrage
One Million Moms – they’re nothing if not persistent.
The same group of ‘moms’ who had kittens over Ellen DeGeneres becoming the face of JCPenney are yet again outraged…this time at Urban Outfitters!
Urban Outfitters is a retail fashion line in the US, and as part of their April marketing campaign they’ve hit American homes with a product catalogue featuring this image of two women (shock horror) kissing on page 2.
This is not the first time that the ‘same-sex kissing’ concept was used in an advertising campaign but OneMillionMoms.com don’t care.
They are shocked and disgusted not because the girl on the left is wearing heels high enough to cause permanent disability, neither are they shocked that the one on the right looks sickly thin for her height, no, no, they’re not shocked because they are in a face embrace, kissing .
Just like our very own Maltese bigots, their members are sending this pre-written letter to Urban Outfitters.
As a member of OneMillionMoms.com, I am shocked by your company’s decision to feature two women kissing in a face holding embrace in your April 2012 Urban Outfitters catalog. Your decision is disrespectful to me personally, and to my family. If Urban Outfitters continues to use such poor taste and inappropriate marketing choices, I will make a conscious effort to shop elsewhere.
As a parent and consumer I find it extremely offensive, but when your ads are geared toward teenagers you offend my family as well. Placed on page two of the catalog it will not be missed by anyone including young children who may pick up the catalog.
I implore you to publicly apologize for sending this to American households. This inappropriate advertisement needs to be discontinued and the circulation of this catalog should be stopped immediately.
Please refrain from using this type of advertising in the future, or I will not be able to support your company.
I look forward to hearing from you regarding my concern.

In my brains I have a big “Ignore” button, and I tend to be trigger happy!
I think OneMillionMoms are ears-deep in denial. Assuming the statistic that one in ten people is gay, and assuming that half of those are girls [ignoring the transgender and intersex communities, just for now], then 50,000 of those moms are in fact moms to gay girls or women. They either know this and are shameless hypocrites or they do not and are a) blind, b) unapproachable to their children, c) so damn scary their daughter will not come out to them or d) all of the above.
